Every pregnancy is unique. Timely milestone tracking, blood pressure vigilance, and ultrasound scans ensure healthy mothers and safe deliveries.

Clinical Basis

Blood pressure staging in pregnancy: Normal (< 120/80 mmHg), Elevated (120–129/<80), Gestational Hypertension (≥ 140/90 after 20 weeks), and Severe Pre-eclampsia Range (≥ 160/110 mmHg). Prompt clinical intervention prevents maternal and fetal complications.

Reference Guidelines

  • Normal Maternal BP (< 120/80 mmHg): Optimal healthy blood pressure. Continue routine antenatal checks and balanced nutrition.
  • Elevated / Borderline (120–139 / 80–89): Requires closer monitoring. Re-check BP in 4–6 hours at rest. Maintain hydration and report any headache or edema.
  • Gestational Hypertension (≥ 140/90 mmHg): Clinical evaluation required. Urine protein test (ACR/dipstick) and fetal wellbeing scan needed to rule out pre-eclampsia.
  • Severe Alert (≥ 160/110 mmHg or Red Flag Symptoms): EMERGENCY: Proceed to hospital immediately. Severe blood pressure elevation requires urgent hospital admission and maternal-fetal stabilization.
